Questions · answered plainly

Five things people ask before they book.

Plain answers to the five objections that come up most — no marketing copy.

01 · VETTING

Licences and insurance, before anyone goes on the board.

Every tradie on the Lockwright dispatch board holds a current trade licence in the state they work in, plus current public liability insurance. We check the licence number against the state register when they apply, and we re-check it every twelve months. You see the tradie's name and licence state on the matched job sheet — never "a tradie will be in touch".

02 · PAYMENT

The tradie gets every dollar quoted. We charge a small service fee on top.

When you lock in a job you pay the quoted price plus a service fee — 7.5% for jobs under $150, or 10% for jobs at $150 or more. That fee is added to your total; it is never taken from the tradie. The tradie always receives their full quoted amount. 50% of the quoted price is held by Lockwright until the job is completed; the hold is released to the tradie once you sign off. You are never double-charged, and no cash-outside-the-app arrangements are permitted.

03 · NO-SHOWS

If the tradie doesn't turn up, you don't pay.

If a tradie doesn't arrive in the window and hasn't sent an SMS within thirty minutes of the start, the slot is reopened and the match is reassigned. Your full payment hold is released the moment we cancel — same day, no chase email required. We run that page; you don't have to.

04 · SCOPE

Anything extra needs your sign-off in writing.

If a tradie finds something extra once they're on site — a leaking fitting behind the wall, a longer cable run — they send a written change note through the app. You read it and accept or push back. Nothing extra is added to your bill without your sign-off, and the original job lock stays in place until you agree.

05 · REFUNDS

Clearer than "all sales final".

Cancel more than 24 hours before the window and the full payment hold is released the same day. Cancel inside 24 hours and we keep a small fixed booking fee to cover the tradie's blocked calendar; the rest is released. Once the job starts, refunds are case-by-case and we keep you in writing throughout — there's no "all sales final" clause anywhere.
